Subject: Wave texture questions...

Greetings,
Could someone explain the inter-relationship between the
Texture Size and Wavelength of the
Ripples or Underwater texture/displacement/clip/etc maps.
The LW docs give the example for Texture Size "a 1-meter cube with
a .25 meter ripple size would show four ripples across its surface."
OK, no prob here...
Under Wavelength it says, "Wavelength controls the distance between the
ripples." Isn't this the same thing? Will one negate the other?
Can they complement each other? Would it be best to adjust one and leave
the other alone?
I have the same questions about...Texture Speed and Wavespeed.
I also noticed that at times I'll have lots of wave sources, 9 for
example, and I'll only see one. I'd then try 1 source and then the
ony change I'd see would be that the waves appeared "thinner".
So I am assuming that the the origins of the waves are almost on top of
each other. How does one change that?
Or....is there an inter-relationship between the
Wave Sources and Texture Size (and/or) Wavelength?
